Hilltops Sister City Policy opens opportunities for growth

At last week’s Council Meeting, Hilltops Council were presented with a draft Sister City and Friendship Policy for consideration. The policy was endorsed by Council to be placed on public exhibition for a period of 28 days, during which time the public are invited to make comment on the document.

Level 2 water restrictions for Boorowa

Following prolonged hot weather and few rain events, in accordance with the Boorowa Drought Management Plan, Hilltops Council have implemented Level 2 water restrictions in Boorowa.  These restrictions are necessary to manage continuity of water supply.

Hilltops Community Partners Forum

The second annual Hilltops Community Partners Forum is being held on Wednesday 20 March from 10am-3pm at The Young Services Club. The purpose of the forum is for Hilltops Community organisations and groups to come together to share ideas, successes and identify emerging trends in the Hilltops area.

Galong Masterplan on display

Hilltops Council have agreed to move forward with the Galong Masterplan, resolving at their February meeting to endorse the plan to be placed on public exhibition for a period of 28 days.

Council and BlazeAid partner to support local Landholders

Council was recently approached by the Department of Primary Industry (DPI) regarding our willingness to host BlazeAid to support landholders affected by the January and February storm events. It is expected that around 15 volunteers will be based in Boorowa for approximately four weeks to assist with support tasks such as fencing in a bid to assist local landholders get back on their feet following the recent storm damage.

After an extensive period of research and consultation, the Blackguard Gully Draft Masterplan has been endorsed by Council to be placed on public exhibition.

Hilltops Council Donations, Financial Assistance and Sponsorship Programs open

Hilltops Council is calling for applications from community organisations who are seeking donations and financial assistance or sponsorship from Council for the period 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019. This is the second round of applications for the period and aims to distribute the remaining funds in both the Financial Assistance and Sponsorship budgets.

The NSW Seniors Festival will be taking place between Wednesday 13 and Sunday 24 February 2019 and to celebrate, Hilltops Council will be hosting a Seniors Festival Lunch at Galong Monastery on Thursday 21 February

Funding welcomed for Boorowa water security scoping study

Hilltops Mayor Brian Ingram welcomed an announcement by Member for Goulburn Pru Goward last week that funding has been secured through the NSW Government’s Restart NSW – Safe and Secure Water Program for the Boorowa water security scoping study.
