Hilltops Council Mayor Brian Ingram is reminding residents and rate-payers they have un-til next Wednesday, 15 November to complete the ‘Your Hilltops’ survey that has been de-signed to gather feedback from the community about their ideas for the future of the re-gion.

Mayor Ingram said the information gathered from the survey, together with the construc-tive feedback gathered at the 12 community and village workshops, three pop-up street stands and various forums, will go towards putting together Council’s Community Strate-gic Plan (CSP).

“The ideas and thoughts we’ve heard from members of the community through the vari-ous out-reach initiatives have been excellent; residents who’ve attended or completed a survey have shown a deep level of understanding about the issues facing the region, and have come to us with forward-thinking and considered ideas about how we grow our ar-ea over the next five, ten, even 20 years,” Mayor Ingram said.

“The ‘Your Hilltops’ project is all about shaping our future together; that’s why we want to make sure as many people as possible engage with us and share their thoughts. If forums or the survey is not your cup of tea, then why not enter the multi-media competition; the closing date for entries is also next Wednesday so don’t miss out,” he said.

Mayor Ingram explained the CSP is about creating a blueprint for the future of the Hilltops Region.

“The Community Strategic Plan will outline the goals, challenges and opportunities for the Hilltops Region. It will set-out ways to consolidate our strengths while also fulfilling our exciting potential,” Mayor Ingram said.

“The CSP will only be as good as the feedback we get from the community, so I urge eve-ryone to get involved; don’t miss your chance!” he said.
