Parks and Gardens Western

 

 

Cricket pitch preparation for upcoming season. Oval work for the changeover to summer sport eg. touch football and cricket. Irrigation repairs in preparation for summer. Summer annual planting on roundabouts and town gardens.
Eastern Hazard reduction mowing for fire season.
Southern Neill Street palm maintenance and garden bed maintenance. General town maintenance mowing. New watering Mclean Oval and Newson Park.

Western

 

Water main installation is continuing on the Olympic Highway. The works are expected to be completed by the end of December 2017.

 

Eastern Watermain replacement.

 

Southern Watermain replacement at Albury Street, Station to Redbank Streets.

Watermain replacement at Bathurst Street, Neill to Clarke Streets.

Watermain replacement at Cunningar water main replacement.

PESTICIDE USE NOTIFICATION

Planned pesticide use by Council works crews until week ending Thursday 2nd November 2017 will include the use of Round Up, Brush Off, Amitrol, Weedmaster, Dicamba, Grazon, Basta, Primo, MCPA and Broadstrike and Fusilade for herbicide control. Confidor for Aphid and Access for wild fruit tree control on:

  • All roads in Hilltops Council – Young, Boorowa and Harden area, Shire Parks, Ovals, Laneways and some town areas;
  • All Villages, Rest Areas and Reserves; and
  • Rural and Regional roads

Naturalure Fruit Fly Bait will be used in the above areas to target the control of fruit fly.

In accordance with Hilltops Pesticide Notification Plan signs and flashing lights will be provided on vehicles applying pesticides, signs placed to inform the public where required, and escort warning vehicles will be used for the 2017 road shoulder program.

Drivers should exercise extreme caution when passing these vehicles.
