Applications are now open for community groups and organisations to obtain funding from Hilltops Council for special programs or events.

Hilltops Council Mayor Brian Ingram said funding is available for up to a maximum of 50 per cent of the cost of the event or program, for community groups to utilise in the current financial year.

“A maximum of $1,000 is available under this particular fund after Councillors last year agreed to double the donation amount to help ensure local groups get the appropriate level of assistance they need in order to undertake special programs or events that benefit not only group members, but the entire community,” Mayor Ingram said.

“This is the second round of funding under this particular program and I encourage those who were unsuccessful in the first round late last year, to submit an application,” he said.

Mayor Ingram explained that this program, in addition to the small-scale infrastructure fund (made available last year) replaces the arrangements that were in place under the former Councils for providing financial support to community organisations.

“We announced just over $52,600 in funding in November last year to assist community groups and I’m pleased to be able to once again make this kind of support available this year,” Mayor Ingram said.

“These funding programs are in addition to Council’s sponsorship program which recently allocated $37,530 among 19 local groups to help optimise events that benefit the broader community,” he said.

Application forms are available for download here. Hard copies are available at Council’s offices in Young, Harden and Boorowa.

Applications close on Wednesday 7th March at 12 noon.
