According to Council’s General Manager Anthony McMahon the plan will not only guide the actions of Council over the coming twelve months but also where funds will be spent. “The draft plan includes what Council intends to do, the budget statements, proposed capital works programs, the revenue policy, fees and charges as well as the proposed allocation of the Stronger Communities Fund,” he said.
The draft plan will now be on exhibition for a month and during that time Council will be providing further information and seeking input from the community. “We will be holding information forums in each of the three main townships to explain the draft plan, particularly the budget and the proposed allocation of the Stronger Communities Fund and I strongly encourage as many people as possible to come along and find out more,” said Mrs. Tuckerman.
The information forums are scheduled to be held in Boorowa on 8 May at the Ex-Services Club, Young on 10 May at the Town Hall and Harden on 11 May at the Country Club all commencing at 6pm.
“In addition to the forums we will have street stands set up for an afternoon in each of the main townships where staff will be available to answer questions and take suggestions on the draft plans,” said Mr. McMahon. The scheduled dates and locations will be; Young outside Donges Supa IGA on 15 May, Harden outside the Mechanic’s Institute on 16 May and Boorowa outside the Boorowa IGA on 17 May, all between 1pm to 5pm.
“We are keen to get as much feedback and input from the community as possible to be able to refine the draft plans and make sure they reflect what is important to the community so again I encourage the community to take an interest and get involved,” said Mrs. Tuckerman.
The draft plan is available at the Boorowa, Harden and Young Administration Building and Libraries for viewing.
Written submissions must be in to Council, c/o General Manager, Locked Bag 5, Young NSW 2594 or via email email@example.com by 12pm on Thursday, 25th of May.
